I was born on a beautiful farm in the country. As a young pup, my mom chose me from all my beagle brothers and sisters. Sweet! Of course, I ran out from the barn first. I've been a rough & Tough kind dog guy all my life. The beagle with the "mostest", you might say, up until I was 7 years of age and all my cylinders were working. I am now 8ish and I've slowed down, gained a little weight. I need muscle massage as well as acupressure to keep my kidneys functioning, which I get from my massage therapist, confidant and savior, aka "Joyce" .

I couldn't believe it. I was lying next to Mom on that stretcher like table. It was covered in a white sheet and soooo clean! There was soft music playing. I had just had my face, feet and tail done and now I was getting a massage. I definitely felt like the princess that I am. Slowly the masseuse starting massaging my body. First my forehead. Then she moved down my back and then to my legs and finally my tail. Mom used to tell me how wonderful a massage was, but how could I have ever know it was this good!! It felt so relaxing I fell off to sleep. When I woke up, I realized I was having a dream. I was so relaxed I didn't want to move. I really wasn't with my Mom having a massage, I was at "Tails of Old Towne". Better known in the poodle world as "The Elegant Parlor". Joyce had finished my massage and Mom was trying to get me up. But who wants to leave that place!!! Certainly not an elegant girl like me!!! Already, I can't wait till my next appointment. I feel like I can run around the park three times when I leave....even at 14!!! "This place is really the best, darrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrling! You must make an appointment after mine and we can 'do lunch' when we're finished.

I may not be the most active dog in the world but when arthritis made it hard for me to get up and down, not to mention slowing me up from my kitchen patrol duties, something had to be done. My mom and I decided to give dog massage a try rather than increase my medication or start acupuncture. Plus, it seemed like a fun thing we could do together. I was a little nervous during the first couple of sessions since I’m not a big fan of anyone messing around with my back legs, but once Joyce gets started you can’t help but relax. Now a regular client, I go about every five weeks. If you’re on your best behavior, Ms. Joyce breaks out the treats at the end of the session. I doubt that I’ll be running up and down the steps again but I definitely have a spring in my step during my daily walks and the sinus relief is an added bonus.
